Corvairs Bolster Forward Group with Acquisition of Thomas Kuipers

The Caledonia Corvairs have acquired 2006-born forward Thomas Kuipers from the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) ahead of the 2025–26 season.

Kuipers, a 6’0”, 209-pound winger from Carrying Place, Ontario, is coming off a breakout year in Trenton where he registered 36 points (14G, 22A) in 48 regular season games. He followed that up with an impressive 18 points (9G, 9A) in 20 playoff games, helping lead the Golden Hawks on a deep postseason run.

His performance earned him a call-up to the Ontario Hockey League, where he appeared in 6 games with the Brampton Steelheads, gaining valuable experience at the major junior level. Originally a 13th-round pick (245th overall) by the Erie Otters in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Kuipers signed an OHL scholarship and development agreement with Brampton in late 2024.

Known for his physical edge, straight-line speed, and playoff composure, Kuipers now joins a Corvairs lineup looking to contend in the GOJHL once again.

“Thomas is a dynamic addition to our forward core.” said GM Jake MacNeil. “He brings a strong skill in all aspects of the game but he’s also got experience winning championships. He was an important part of Trenton’s championship run this past season and his experience will play a factor in our drive for a championship run. He will be a fun player for the fans to watch”

Kuipers becomes another high-impact piece for Caledonia heading into the new season, adding size, scoring, and experience to the team’s forward depth.
