Kane Styres Returns for Second Season with Corvairs

Caledonia, ON — July 31, 2025 —The Caledonia Corvairs are proud to announce that 2008-born defenceman Kane Styres has re-signed for the 2025–26 GOJHL season.

Styres joined the Corvairs as a 15-year-old in 2024–25 and quickly proved he belonged at the junior level. The Brantford native appeared in 42 regular season games, tallying 1 goal, 5 assists, and 66 penalty minutes. He continued to make an impact in the playoffs, adding 9 games and 25 penalty minutes as part of a physical, steady presence on the back end.

His strong play at the junior level came after being selected by the Barrie Colts in the 11th round (207th overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. Styres was one of the youngest players in the GOJHL last season and made the most of the opportunity, displaying maturity, grit, and steady development throughout the year.

“We are excited to see the strides Kane will make this season.” said GM Jake MacNeil. “Last year he got the experience and adjusted to the pace and played on the edge constantly. Now this season he takes a bigger step with a year under his belt. He’s hungry to evolve his game, his confidence is growing and his abilities will take off this season. He is very eager to win and keep climbing the ranks

A member of the Six Nations of the Grand River, Styres enters his second year with the Corvairs with valuable experience and a full season of junior hockey under his belt. Known for his edge, composure, and ability to play tough minutes, he’ll be a key piece of the team’s defensive group moving forward.
